Energy

Growing up in Buchanan County, I grew up in a mining home. Like many other mining families in southwest Virginia, I grew up knowing firsthand coal's value to our region. Whether it is the mining jobs that put food on the table, the businesses that sprung up around the minefields, or the tax base that paid for our school, coal has provided a livelihood for thousands.

That is why as Chairman of the Tazewell County Board of Supervisors, I passed a resolution for the extension of coal tax credits to save hundreds of jobs. In Richmond, I am fighting to protect coal, create jobs, and for Virginia to complete the Coalfield expressway.
